Your hinges and handles are jewelry for the bathroom. Here is how to pick a finish that still looks right in ten years.
On a frameless enclosure the hardware is the only metal you see — so the finish matters more than people expect. Here's how we help homeowners choose.
Match your plumbing fixtures first
The simplest rule: let the shower glass hardware follow the faucets and showerhead already in the room. Mixing one or two finishes can look intentional; mixing four looks like an accident.
The finishes we install most
- Brushed nickel — warm, forgiving, hides water spots; the safe SWFL default
- Matte black — bold and modern, beautiful against white tile, shows dust a little more
- Brushed/satin gold — the current favorite for luxury baths; pairs gorgeously with marble
- Polished chrome — bright and timeless, but shows every water spot
A note on coastal homes
Near the water in Marco Island or on the islands, salt air is hard on cheap plating. We use quality hardware rated to hold its finish — worth it when you're this close to the Gulf.
